Known as "the city where the sun first rises", Joao Pessoa is the easternmost city of the Americas. Paraibas capital is the greenest and oldest city of the state, and the third oldest city in Brazil. Under construction is a new modern convention centre overlooking Cabo Branco and the Atlantic Ocean. The project includes a 13,642m2 Congress centre, a 19,346m2 exhibition and events arena; 3,000 seat theatre, tower with an observation platform and a helipad amongst other things. The location is spacious, green, and complimented by lakes and water features. This is just one of many examples of the government's forward thinking, and the vision to make Joao Pessoa, and the Northeast of Brazil a desired holiday destination.
